This unique range has been inspired by the beautiful region of Matakana (around one hour north of Auckland). Over recent years, boutique vineyards, olive groves, arts and crafts, and cafes have emerged over the hills and valleys of the area.
Danvers Devereux, Les Floralies Managing Director/designer and his family frequently enjoy holidays in the Matakana region.
So why Lime and Olive?
Fragrance is a wonderful reminder of an enjoyable experience. “I love stopping off on the way to buy a bag of limes at one of the local road side stalls with an honesty box! My family and friends often enjoy a drink called “mojito”, which requires lots of fresh limes and has a refreshing, zesty flavour. (It reminds me I’m on holiday!) The flavour and aroma is superb.”
“Six years ago, my family planted a small olive grove in the area. With olives you have to wait four years for maturity, thus some patience is required! This experience inspired olive oil as a key ingredient in the range. Contributing towards the supply of pure extra virgin olive oil are a group of local olive growers who are passionate about growing and producing the finest oil.”
Olive oil is proven to be wonderfully beneficial in skincare products with incredible nourishing and moisturising qualities. People in the Mediterranean have known this for years! Now it is our turn.
At Les Floralies we are using pure extra virgin olive oil in this new range, as well as an infusion of lime. The final result is a unique range which nourishes, soothes and cleanses and offers a refreshing and uplifting citrus fragrance with wonderful herbal notes!
